Job Description:
- Clean the guest house rooms, corridors, restrooms, kitchens, and other common areas daily.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all designated areas.
- Empty trash bins and ensure proper waste disposal.
- Clean and disinfect office furniture, windows, and equipment as needed.
- Replenish supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and other facilities.
- Report any damage, needed repairs, or supply shortages to the guest house manager
- Ensure cleaning materials and equipment are safely stored and properly used.
- Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Plan and prepare meals according to the menu or staff/guests needs
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining area, and all kitchen utensils.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and nutrition standards at all times.
- Manage stock of food supplies and kitchen items; report shortages to the guest house manager.
- Ensure proper storage of food and avoid waste and procurement of food supplies asrequired.
- Perform any other cleaning- cook- related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of five years of experience as a cleaner and cook in an international NGO, embassy or UN system is required.
- Fluency in English language.
- Secondary education is required.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe handling of kitchen equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out cleaning tasks (lifting, bending, long periods of standing).
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to plan menus and cook a variety of meals including local, continental meals and snacks
- Be honest, reliable, punctual, and with good attention to detail.
- Respectful and able to maintain confidentiality in the workplace.
- Should be physically fit, with no history of illness of any kind, especially communicable disease.
- Preferably local to Mazar, with family settled in the city.
