Job Description: 

    • Clean the guest house rooms, corridors, restrooms, kitchens, and other common areas daily.
    • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all designated areas.
    • Empty trash bins and ensure proper waste disposal.
    • Clean and disinfect office furniture, windows, and equipment as needed.
    • Replenish supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and other facilities.
    • Report any damage, needed repairs, or supply shortages to the guest house manager
    • Ensure cleaning materials and equipment are safely stored and properly used.
    • Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
    • Plan and prepare meals according to the menu or staff/guests needs
    • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining area, and all kitchen utensils.
    • Follow food safety, hygiene, and nutrition standards at all times.
    • Manage stock of food supplies and kitchen items; report shortages to the guest house manager.
    • Ensure proper storage of food and avoid waste and procurement of food supplies asrequired.
    • Perform any other cleaning- cook- related duties assigned by the supervisor.

 

Job Requirements:

    • A minimum of five years of experience as a cleaner and cook in an international NGO, embassy or UN system is required.
    • Fluency in English language.
    • Secondary education is required.
    • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe handling of kitchen equipment.
    • Physical ability to carry out cleaning tasks (lifting, bending, long periods of standing).
    • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
    • Ability to plan menus and cook a variety of meals including local, continental meals and snacks
    • Be honest, reliable, punctual, and with good attention to detail.
    • Respectful and able to maintain confidentiality in the workplace.
    • Should be physically fit, with no history of illness of any kind, especially communicable disease.
    • Preferably local to Mazar, with family settled in the city.
